Kurki Ecovillage Association maintains a biodiversity garden. The EU Rural Development Fund sponsored it in 2022 through the 'Increasing biodiversity in a historic communal yard' project.
During the project we increased biodiversity by transforming mainly grassland areas into areas with a diverse range of plants. The purpose is also to collect seeds and ensure the preservation of different species and plants. The garden will continue to be maintained and the presentation and distribution of seeds and seedlings will take place this year, especially in connection with summer cafes and other events we organize, which will allow people to explore the common areas of the ecovillage more widely.
